LaDanian Tomlinson, one of the best running backs in recent years will retire as a Charger per ESPN.
Tomlinson was truly one of the most prolific RBs I’ve seen in many years and he’s definitely one of my all-time favorite Madden players.
LT will sign with the Chargers and announce his retirement at a news conference Monday, the team announced Sunday.
The 32-year-old Tomlinson ranks fifth on the all-time rushing list with 13,684 yards. His 145 career rushing touchdowns rank second, and his 162 total touchdowns rank third all-time.
He was the NFL’s MVP in 2006, when he set league single-season records with 31 touchdowns, including 28 rushing, and 186 points. Tomlinson won the NFL’s rushing title in 2006 and ’07.
He was selected 5th overall by the Chargers in 2001 after the Falcons traded with the Chargers to select Michael Vick #1 overall. Despite the way things ended in San Diego, I’d say the Chargers came out ahead in that one.
Despite being relatively undersized, LT had one of the most vicious stiff arms in the game. So I’ll leave you all with a few of his best.
