Kobe and Vanessa Bryant divorce put on hold, for now

06/12/2012 at 7:10 am By

According to TMZ, Vanessa Bryant has decided not to sign the divorce documents that were filed back in December to end her marriage to Los Angeles Lakers superstar Kobe Bryant. Vanessa filed for divorce after learning that Kobe had been allegedly cheating on her for years. Here are details:

Vanessa Bryant will NOT sign documents to make her divorce final … at least for now … because TMZ has learned, she and Kobe are working on a full reconciliation.

Under California law, Vanessa has to wait 6 months before she can file final docs making the divorce official. The 6-month mark hits this weekend, so Vanessa could end the marriage as early as Monday … but we know she won’t.

Kobe signed the deeds to his three Newport Beach mansions over to Vanessa earlier this year in an attempt to win her back and the two have been seen on together on numerous occasions, leading to speculation that they may be attempting to save their marriage. Kobe and Vanessa have been married since 2001 and have two daughters together.

Is ther some point here? have they helped global economy, found a way to assure THIS country will EVER in their lifetimes have a president who cares about America (hmm I gues that would have to a NONPOLITICIAN person)—–in other words what is so significant about them and this-WHO CARES????? STOP THE INSANITY

This is my take on divorce: Don’t do it! Reconcile with the one you’re with, probably have kids with. The grass in NOT greener on the other side; whatever “issues” you have in your marriage will follow you into the next marriage. That feeling you get with someone new doesn’t last so just suck it up, fix whatever is wrong, and stay in your marriage.

Well said, and very truthful. Instant gratification does not last and does not provide real happiness. If that were true, why do the wealthy, famous people on Earth divorce? Just look at Tiger Woods. His wife is a beautiful model and he is very wealthy. There are dozens of examples.

Kathleen, sometimes the grass is greener on the other side. Divorce is appropriate in certain situations so your one-size fits all approach doesn’t work in real life.

Is it just me, or isn’t there something wrong with having to sign your property over in order to keep your spouse? I just do not get it…. if I had to sign anything or everything over to keep my spouse, I would hope someone would knock some sense into me. Marriage is supposed to be about the two people loving each other…not how much you can take from one another. Yeah, I know, maybe I have my rose colored glasses on this morning…but, this is just wrong. And, on a side note, nothing in this world is worth giving up your self respect. If either spouse cheats once, it is most likely it will happen again….yuck!!!

I hope the two of them can work out their differences. They are to me, one of the darling couples of the NBA. Kobe, Vanessa, you know you still love each other and you’ve made it this far even against the odds you faced. Keep your beautiful Queen Kobe. Whatever problems that exist between the ywo of you…..fix it! I’m rooting for you!

Truly whether they do or not…up to them. Hey I dont know them and Im an anti Laker fan. I will say this though. I give them a lot of respect for trying to make sure divorce is truly the right course. Too many times in the media marriage is downplayed like its nothing more than a fad. Its so much more than that, but its between them. Everyone has an opinion or comment like they know them or something, and s quick to cast the first stone bout what he did. Let he who is without…cast the first….if shes willing to make sure then encourage them both…may just make him the man he needs to be

You are so right. I meant to include them both in my comment and hopefully didn’t sound biased in it. I want them both to fix it!

I am a big fan of Kobe. They got married young and they have a lot to learn. However, if you and Vanessa can make your marriage work, do it. Forget about the critics. The media and public will always have something negative to say. Do what is right for your marriage and your kids. We all make mistakes and hopefully we learn from them. I am sure Kobe and Vanessa have learned some things and will make some good changes. So if you sre still in love with each other, make it work. Your kids will be better off for it. In order to grow and mature and be happy you have to learn to forgive. So you guys are doing the right thing in working it out. Good luck.

I think if she can handle the fact that he was with a different woman every month, she should stay with him and stop embarasing her self. I wouldn’t stick with someone that cheats on me every possibility he has.But that’s just me.And yes, the grass is sometimes greaner on the other side:)But on another note I hope that they can work it out…

I hope they can work out their problems and stay together.
Women just throw themselves at NBA players and I guess its hard to resist, but these guys need to be faithful, or don’t get married.
If Kobe and Vanessa were married in the church, perhaps talking to a priest or minister would help.
    Good luck to them…

Marriage is the greatest thing on this earth,it takes hard work but it is so worth it. make it last forever. you both are going to get the same thing from somebody else. Don’t be like Mike. you both are good for each other. you made a vow to God, please don’t break it.That what the devil wants. Yoy can do this.walk together, love each othe and raise your kids together and build everlasting memories together. Nothing can take that away from you. Be different. don’t be like every body else. love them then leave them. Don’t do hollywood. do normal and God will bless your marriage.
