The Celtics also did a solid job of reloading their front court in the draft Thursday, selecting bot PF Jared Sullinger and C Fab Melo in the first round.
Garnett was said to be considering retirement at age 36, instead opting to remain with the Celtics for a few more years. Garnett had a solid 2011-2012 season, averaging 15.8 ppg and 8.2 rpg while playing center, away from his typical power forward position. For his career, Garnett has averages of 19.3 ppg, 10.4 rpg and 4.0 apg in 17 seasons and is widely regarded as one of the best power forwards of all-time.
