Boston Mayor, Thomas Menino is no stranger to sports related gaffes. He routinely botches historical Boston area sports teams, players, & moments in speeches & interviews.
This may be the worst though.
Speaking to reporters Thursday, Menino was asked about the Celtics and said, “It just goes to show you, just because you’ve got a few gray hairs, it doesn’t mean you’re over the hill. They’ve still got a lot of energy.”
And then….
“There’s a lot of heart in this team, let me just tell you,” he said. “K.J. is great but Hondo’s really the inspiration. Hondo drives that team.”
Look. I know not everyone is crazy about sports & spends a lot of time following them. But c’mon! How can anyone in Boston not know that it’s “KG” & Rondo!?
“KJ” & “HONDO”!?
I’m convinced he’s now doing it on purpose for attention.
