Recently signed Jacksonville Jaguars defensive back Aaron Ross will be missing a portion of training camp this summer to support his wife Sanya Richards-Ross at the 2012 Olympics in London.
Sanya Richards-Ross won the 400 meters race at the U.S. trials over the weekend to qualify for the Olympics by running a 49.28, best in the World so far this year. Aaron Ross himself is known as one of the fastest corners in the NFL, running a 4.44 40-yard dash at the combine before being drafted by the Giants 20th overall in the 2007 NFL Draft.
Ross asked the Jaguars for permission to take time off before signing a 3-year, $9.75 mil contract in March. Ross asked the Giants for permission to watch his wife run in the 2008 Olympics where she won bronze in the 400 meter but his request was denied.
This is a class move by the Jaguars organization by allowing Ross to support is wife in one of the biggest moments of her life. Hats off to the organization for having their morals in the right place.

I hope she wins the Gold for US!
CANNOT WAIT TO SEE HIM & THE JAGS PLAY! In person!!!
Old news, saw the same article a month ago.
Not necessarily old news, since Ross’ wife just qualified for the Olympics over the weekend making his missing training camp official. But thanks for the visit.
Congrats to Sanya. She is an integral part to Aaron’s training and has been a major supporter of him throughout his carrerr. It is only fitting he is there to lend the same support to Sanya at the Games. Best of luck to you both. Gonna miss seeing you play for Big Blue, but hope you can take a big step this year for the Jags. Always been a fan.
