Apparently a young 6-year old Giants fan wasn’t too fond of Jacobs potentially leaving and mailed the running back $3.36 out of his piggy bank to help the Giants afford Jacobs, along with a letter (with the assistance of his mother) that read:
“Dear Mr. Jacobs,
So you could go to the Giants, here is my money.
Love, Joe.”
It’s great to see a gesture from a fan at such a young age, especially when some parents are teaching their children to burn jerseys and whatnot to show their displeasure.
Jacobs responded with the following via his Twitter account:
I almost cried, I am still trying to hold it in. I may have to pay him a surprise visit.

The kid thought the giants didn’t have enough money to bring me back, so he sent me 3.36 cent to come back it was the best ever.

We hope Jacobs keeps his word and meets the young Joe in person. And kudos to Joe’s parents for doing what appears to be a great job of raising their son to have great morals.
