The 2012 season will be a special one for the Washington Redskins, and not just because the Robert Griffin III era will begin. This year marks the 80th anniversary for the franchise who has also been known as the Boston Braves and Boston Redskins. A few weeks ago the Pittsburgh Steelers, who are also celebrating their 80th this year, revealed these special uniforms we can look forward to this season. Tonight the Redskins let the public have a look at their retro, better looking throwbacks which resemble the team’s 1937 uniform.
Pretty sharp and the leather look of the helmets is a nice touch.
The Redskins have an 80th anniversary bus as well.
Also included in the celebration will be a Thank You Tour, Community Giving Program, Welcome Home Luncheon, Gala, Alumni Day of Giving, and the homecoming game against the Carolina Panthers on November 4.
