The Lakers began their second round series against the #2 seeded Oklahoma City Thunder Monday evening in disappointing fashion, losing 119-90. OKC’s top three players Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook and James Harden all had solid games, contributing 25, 27 and 17 points, respectively.
During the post game press conference, a reporter asked Kobe Bryant a pretty straight forward, if ill-advised, question to which Bryant responded in a not so typical fashion. Watch:
Clearly it wasn’t wise to ask a known fierce competitor like Bryant if his team was good enough to handle the Thunder, especially after the thumping the Lakers had just taken. Usually Bryant would offer a professional response, but after a 29-point lose in the playoffs the reporter may have wanted to phrase his question a bit less forward.
Ask a ridiculous question, expect to get an equally snide response in return.
