On the football field Vernon Davis is one of the best tight ends in the NFL. Away from it he has an interest in fine arts and helping other be successful.
The studio art major while at the University of Maryland, who founded the design company Modern Class Design, recently showed his creative side with children from the Bayview YMCA. CSN Bay Area recently caught up with Davis for an episode of their The Lunch Box segment, as he helped complete a mural commissioned by the StreetSmARTS program, a joint effort of the Department of Public Works and San Francisco Arts Commission.
Davis also awarded an art scholarship on behalf of his foundation as part of the event.
Professional athletes taking advantage of their status as role models to help impact the lives of America’s youth is always good to see and Davis’ contribution will surely be put to good use.
