The once Pro-Bowl caliber WR, and perennial headache Braylon Edwards may be close to finding a new team.
ESPN NFL reporter and resident gnome, Adam Schefter, has reported that the Cincinnati Bengals have expressed interest in the troubled WR. For anyone who is even remotely familiar with the way the Bengals do business, this should be no surprise.
If it develops, I’m sure Edwards will be thrilled to have the opportunity to play his former team in Cleveland. After being jettisoned, he has routinely demonstrated a grudge and hard feelings.
Edwards has talent, there is no doubt about that, but many have questioned his heart & desire to play the game after less than stellar stints with the Jets and the 49ers.
If the Jets and Rex Ryan (REX RYAN!) think you’re too much of a headache tabs choose to pursue Plaxico Burress after spending 2 years in prison…. You know you have issues.
If Jim Harbaugh chooses to inactivate you in the middle of a run at the Super Bowl… You know you have issues.
If Braylon ever “gets it together”, he can definitely do damage and alongside AJ Green that would be a nasty combo….
So far, though, Edwards has shown to be more flash than substance & more headache than he’s worth. Well see…
