The son of Angels center fielder Torii Hunter has been arrested along with five other students at Prosper (Texas) High in connection with a sexual assault investigation, according to the Associated Press.
Darius McClinton-Hunter made bail and was released from jail Monday after being arrested.
McClinton-Hunter was arrested following an investigation that began a month ago. Four of the students arrested, including Mclinton-Hunter, are charged as adults in the sexual assault of a child. The other student is charged with unlawful restraint.
Hunter has been given an undisclosed amount of time off by manager Mike Scioscia to deal with this “personal matter”.
Hunter addressed his son’s charges and his leave via Twitter last night, stating that ”This is very tough for a father,” and ”Thanks for ur prayers and support. Be Blessed everyone.”
