Tony Romo has been pretty busy considering this is his offseason. Last week his wife gave birth to their first child. This week, a report indicates that Romo will make another run at qualifying for the U.S. Open.
You can say what you like about Romo, but there is no denying that he’s a great all around athlete. Two years ago he advanced to the sectional qualifying round which is the second round of qualifying and one step from the U.S. Open.
Any professional golfer, or any amateur with a USGA men’s handicap index of 1.4 or lower, can attempt to qualify for the U.S. Open golf tournament.
Romo can clearly play, but the level of focus & dedication that separates pro golfers from very good amateurs is incredible.
It’d be a great story if he can qualify, but it’s unlikely.
