Big no-no

Boston Celtics all-star point guard Rajon Rondo has been suspended for game 2 of the Celtics first round series against the Hawks, per CSN’s Sherrod Blakely:

Rondo made contact with official Mark Davis after a questionable loose ball foul was called on Boston. Rondo appeared to bump Davis with his chest, leading to his ejection:

The NBA rule is as follows on contact with an official:

E. PHYSICAL CONTACT—SUSPENSION
Any player or coach guilty of intentional physical contact with an official shall automatically be suspended without pay for one game. (Cont): A fine and/or longer period of suspension willresult if circumstances so dictate.

Rondo claimed that he didn’t intentionally make contact with Davis, but the NBA ruled otherwise. The Celtics trail the Hawks 1-0 in the first round series. Rondo, who had 20 points and 11 assists before his ejection, is eligible to return in game 3, Friday May 4th.
