Now that the NFL Draft is over, the NFL world awaits word from Roger Goodell on player suspensions related to the infamous bounty program.
While this story has already been intriguing, especially with the new wiretapping allegations, there is now a new twist.
Joe Hummel, NFL Head of Investigations, has reportedly submitted his letter of resignation. The report states that he’ll remain onboard until the end of May (which is standard notice for an employee of his status), but it’s unknown what role he will play during that time.
There are no details right now as to the reasoning behind his resignation and it’s certainly possible, if not likely, that he’s parlayed his work on this investigation into a better opportunity. But it’s certainly interesting & will leave a lot of people wondering what’s going on until more details are released.
