Metta World Peace suspended 7 games for elbowing James Harden

Los Angeles Lakers forward Metta World Peace (formerly known as Ron Artest) has been suspended seven games by the NBA for the vicious elbow he landed on James Harden Sunday at Staples Center, as reported by Y! Sports insider Adrian Wojnarwoski.

While many analysts and fans were calling for a more severe penalty, seven games for MWP seems fair given the violent nature of the elbow as well as World Peace’s actions following the incident. Harden was diagnosed with a concussion and has yet to be cleared to play.

Peace will miss the Lakers final regular season game Thursday at Sacramento and a portion of the playoffs. The earliest World Peace would be able to return is in game 7 of the Lakers first round series, or into the second round if the series does not go seven games.

World Peace deserve the punishment. It is just too bad that his team and teammates are also being affected for his stupid uncalled for action. His teammates are working hard to achieve their goal are being deprived of his help which was integrated from the beginning. Thought he might be the weakest link still he was part of the process since the start that was formed and readied for the playoff. Now the Lakers are going to find one for his place and be acclimated for the playoff. It is a good thing that they have devoted players and hope he wont be missed.

Its all fair to say he must be suspended of which i can understand. however its plain to see the harden clearly stepped into the path of metta as if he was setting a hard pick.
