A couple of weeks go Adidas announced it had come to terms with
Washington Redskins quarterback the presumed second pick in next month’s NFL Draft, Robert Griffin III. Earlier today Nike made it known the probable #1 pick, Andrew Luck, will be latest member of Team Swoosh. After the Indianapolis Colts and Peyton Manning parted ways last week it’s expected Luck will be the signal caller of the future for Jim Irsay’s franchise.
“I’m excited to be part of the Nike team,” said Luck. “And I look forward to pursuing the next chapter of my career with such an innovative company supporting me.”
At last month’s NFL scouting combine Andrew Luck posted similar numbers to last year’s top pick Cam Newton. Luck ran the 40-yard dash in 4.59 seconds, showed a 36″ vertical, and recorded a 10’4″ broad jump. Newton’s numbers in the same exercises were 4.59 seconds, 35″, and 10’6″. Luck did not participate in throwing drills at the combine but will at Stanford’s Pro Day, scheduled to be held on March 22nd. The event will be streamed by ESPN at the following link.
