Despite an off game from star guard Jared Cunningham the Oregon St. Beavers defeated the Washington St. Cougars 69-64. Oregon St. was led in scoring by forward Davon Collier with 19 points while junior forward Brock Motum paced Washington St. with 18. Cunningham, who came into the game leading the Pac-12in scoring at 18.2 ppg, was held to 4 points on 1-8 shooting.
Oregon State jumped out to a 22-8 lead behind four three pointers from sophomore guard Ahmad Starks before Washington St. settled in to take a 39-38 halftime lead. An aggressive half court press from Oregon St. was able to swing the tempo in their favor and take Washington St. out of their rhythm and harassing Wash. St. into shooting 28% for the half (7-25). With the victory, Oregon St. (18-13, 8-11) advances to face tournament top seed Washington (21-9, 14-4) Thursday.
