Cassanova McKinzy chose to go to Auburn over Clemson because of on-campus Chik-Fil-A

Kids say the darnedest things sometimes… Cassanova McKinzy, a 6’2″, 224 lb HS senior who is ranked as one of the better linebacker recruits in the country (19th overall linebacker per rivals.com), cited one of the most amusing reasons for his decision to attend Auburn instead of Clemson. The reason? Auburn has a Chik-Fil-A on campus. Here are details, via USA Today:

Woodlawn (Birmingham, Ala.) linebacker Cassanova McKinzy revealed he signed with Auburn instead of Clemson partly because of the fast-food restaurant.

“(It was) kind of the environment and plus they had no Chick-Fil-A on campus,” McKinzy said of his decision to not attend Clemson. “You had to go like, probably like 15 minutes off campus to go to like a real restaurant. Their café was kind of small.”

Good to know McKinzy has his priorities in order. We all know how delicious Chik-Fil-A, not to mention it’s such a classy restaurant (sarcasm!). And of course, having a Chik-Fil-A within walking distance is way more important than academics, coaching staff, playing close to home, etc. I’m sure all of these factors played a factor in McKinzy’s decision, but you have to admit that citing an on-campus Chik-Fil-A is still hilarious.

H/T to BlackSportsOnline for the scoop.
