When Buffalo Bills starting QB Ryan Fitzpatrick went down briefly with an injury in Sunday’s game vs. the Redskins, his back up Tyler Thigpen was preparing for the possibility of entering the game to fill in. Then this happened:
Coincidentally Fitzpatrick remained in the game and Thigpen on the bench. Was Thigpen too distracted by almost getting an opportunity to play? Possibly, but you always have to keep your eye on the ball.
Thigpen had spent the previous five seasons with Kansas City and Miami before being picked up by Buffalo to back up Fitzpatrick. As Fitzpatrick is fresh off signing a 6 year, $59 mil extension he should get accustomed to that back role.
