“Tebowing” is the latest craze that doesn’t appear to be slowing down any time soon. Lions LB Stephen Tulloch “Tebowed” last Sunday after sacking Tim Tebow, the Denver Broncos QB for which the act is patterned after. 18-year old hockey player Rocco Grimaldi is a devout Christian and he makes no attempts on his Twitter page to mask his faith (as he shouldn’t). Only fitting that the North Dakota Fighting Sioux diminutive forward get his “Tebow” on after scoring his first goal:
Grimaldi was in no way mocking the act as he looks to Tim Tebow as a role model, which he told the Sun Sentinel recently:
“His faith, first and foremost. For me being a strong Christian, that’s one of the big reasons: How he lets his faith out and he’s not ashamed of it, that’s an awesome thing to see. Being a football player is a lot different than hockey, but it’s the same with the work ethic and how you approach the game. He’s an animal with how he works out.”
Kudos to Grimaldi for holding strong in his faith and having no shame in expressing it. Better to do it this way than to preach on Twitter, which he has been known to do.
