Last week we posted about LeBron James practicing in full pads with his old high school’s football team. Now that the NBA has officially cancelled the first two weeks on the 2011 season, is James considering taking his talents to the football field? Maybe so, according to this tweet LeBron sent to ESPN’s John Clayton:
I would take this with a grain of salt and chalk it up to LBJ just having some fun on twitter. I mentioned before that LeBron has the measurables to be a great tight end prospect at 6’8″, 260+lbs but I doubt he would risk serious injury and his blooming NBA career by taking a shot at the football.
Update: Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll put on his recruiter cap and sent James a series of tweets about his NFL prospects and also a twitpic of a Seahawks jersey with LeBron’s name on it:
While we can all wonder what type of football player Lebron would make, but that State Farm commercial or creating him on Madden ’12 may be the closest thing we ever see to LBJ officially on an NFL roster.
