Having confidence is never a bad thing. If you don’t believe in yourself and your abilities no one else will. But sometimes you also have to be realistic about your abilities, unless you’re the son of hip-hop mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs (or whatever he’s calling himself this week). Here’s video of Diddy and his son Justin Combs discussing his skills, his recruitment and who he believes his game as a DB best compares to:
Justin is setting some lofty expectations for himself in his comparison to Deion Sanders, Darrelle Revis and Asante Samuel but without goals you have no direction so I respect that. But the 5’9″ Combs he may be a little far fetched at this point in his development as a cornerback. So far he has received scholarship offers from a number of BCS schools, including UCLA, Virginia and Mississippi.Whether or not he has the skills to compete with the best in college football or if he is generating interest solely off his name remains to be seen, but it appears as if Justin has the bravado of a good cornerback in the bag.
Check out some highlights from Justin Combs’ junior season and judge for yourself below. You can also check out Justin hittin’ his dougie here, if you’re interested in that sort of thing. (s/o to our friends at BSO for the vid)
