Sports Writers Covering Philly Eagles Get Into Fist Fight Over Twitter Dispute

The influence of the social monster known as Twitter continues to never disappoint. Apparently a dispute between a couple of writers who both cover the Philadelphia Eagles spilled over into real life as Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer and Les Bowen of the Philadelphia Daily News scuffled early today at the team’s facility. Here are the tweets that jumped everything off, via crossingboard.com:

Well, alright then. Here are some details on the face to face altercation, per PFT:

On Wednesday, the dispute took on a new dimension, with Bowen and McLane getting into a physical altercation at the team’s facility.

Howard Eskin of NBC 10 and WIP reports via Twitter that Bowen “connect[ed] 2 the head” of McLane, and that the two had to be separated.  The pair had to be separated.

Some people take their tweeting as very serious business and apparently these two are no different. As an extensive twitter user myself I highly doubt anything that pops up in my mentions would rile me up enough to come to blows over, but for entertainment’s sake I’m glad some folks see it differently.

I love twitter!
