Audio: Dick Vitale Hangs Up On The Dan LeBatard Show

08/19/2011 at 7:03 pm By

I’ve watched alot of college basketball over the years and if there’s one thing that’s ever present it’s Dick Vitale’s voice. In an interview with the Dan LeBatard show, on 790 The Ticket in Miami, Vitale did something he rarely does, stop talking.

Among the topics Dickie V touched on were the integrity of college athletics, whether or not John Calipari has ever cheated, if University of Miami president Donna Shalala should resign, and boosters like Nevin Shapiro. At one point when questioned about Calipari Vitale channeled his inner Drew Rosenhaus with an “alright let’s go to next point”.

When the comment was made that (knowingly or not) every coach at every university has committed some sort of NCAA infraction Vitale goes on his mini rant (3:40 mark) that results in him getting completely frustrated and hanging up (4:05 mark).

Well that was certainly awkward.

H/T Game On!

It’s about time that Dickie shut the hell up.

When I read this post it doesn’t really surprise me. God rest his soul, but Vitale and ESPN make Jim Valvano out to be a saint and anyone that has paid any attention to college basketball knows that’s far from the truth.

This is the reason I have Sirius Radio, The idiots that work for the Miami stations are a joke! Miami is a joke! It starts with the mayor and filters all the way thru the political system! Lebetard is a Joke too! PTI should fire his ass!
