Farewell to a legend.

Phil Jackson is arguably the greatest coach in NBA history (emphasis on arguably). He led the Chicago Bulls to 6 titles, before winning another five with the Los Angeles Lakers. After yesterday’s loss to the Mavs, the Zen Master put an end to any initial speculation of his return to the sideline next season:

Over the years Jackson has been quite the character and a joy to watch coach. His trademark whistle will be missed on the sidelines, as will his always entertaining comments and openness with the media. Despite the ugly sweep to the Mavs, Phil Jackson’s legacy is well intact and validated by an unprecedented 11NBA championship rings.

Enjoy retirement, Phil. Unless he decides to pull a Favre on us and come back in a year or so. He’s done it before….
